Now Available New Self Help Guides Public Legal Information Association of NL (PLIAN) has officially launched a new self-help legal resource for the people of Newfoundland and Labrador. ‘Uncontested Divorce: An Information Guide’ will help individuals navigate the process of filing an uncontested divorce. ‘Executor’s Guide’ will help individuals navigate the process of being an executor. PLIAN Featured in Local Media PLIAN was contacted by media in November to provide input on the topic of wills and estates, and as a result was featured in an article that was run in The Telegram and The Northern Pen. PLIAN ' s Executive Director, Kristen O’Keefe, weighed in on the importance of preparing a legal will. The article highlighted our publication entitled “Wills and Estates: Help! Where Do I Start?”, prepared by PLIAN and the Supreme Court of Newfoundland and Labrador. Another publication PLIAN produced is called “Seniors and the Law” which includes information about wills, as well as Advance Health Care Directives and Enduring Power of Attorney. In addition, PLIAN will be preparing a self-help Executor’s Kit in 2011, which will be made available as a free print and online publication.
