Youth Justice Rocks Camp Annually, PLIAN holds a Youth Justice Rocks Camp. The camps are a fun, interactive, and informative means of educating the youth of our province about the Youth Criminal Justice Act, the legal system, and crime prevention. This year PLIAN was fortunate enough to host two camps; one on May 2nd and 3rd at Jens Haven School in Nain and one on July 14th - 16th at the St. John's Native Friendship Centre. At our camp in Nain, PLIAN was thrilled to welcome the Honourable Patty Pottle, Minister of Aboriginal Affairs to the opening ceremonies of our camp. Please see a News Release from the Department of Aboriginal Affairs regarding PLIAN's 26th Youth Justice Rocks Camp in Nain, Labrador. In an effort to keep the camps inclusive to all youth, regardless of economic background, PLIAN does not charge a fee to attend. Thus, the costs of the camps can be quite extensive. Without the generous support from government departments, community agencies, local businesses, and individuals in the community these camps would not have been possible.
